On Wednesday, April 16, 2025, Mr. Bécaye Diop, Director General of the National Maritime Affairs Agency (ANAM), signed a cooperation agreement in Dakar with the Netherlands Commission for Environmental Assessment (CNEE). Mr. Stephen Teeuven, CNEE’s Strategic and Technical Advisor, represented Ms. Dennis Van Peppen, International Director of the CNEE in the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
This partnership is part of the preparation and implementation of maritime transport development projects and programs, in line with the Senegal 2050 vision. It specifically targets ANAM’s missions related to the preservation of the marine environment, particularly in connection with new offshore oil and gas resources, to address the challenges of sustainable maritime transport development and marine environmental protection.
